I qualified as a goldsmith in 1985. For the last 19 or so years I have worked exclusively in the classical Japanese tradition and at present divide my creative efforts between contemporary expressions in classical Japanese formats and a freer exploration of the more abstract possibilities inherent in this medium.

I'm a specialist in metal fabrication and finishing in Vancouver, BC Canada.

I've produced high end furnishings, architectural finishings and fine art sculpture. Since 2008 I've been expanding my skills as a Project Manager for small fab shops on a wide variety of projects. I currently work for sculptor David Robinson, managing projects ranging from small to monumental, and executing the majority of our in-house fabrication. I'm happiest when absorbed in a challenging hands-on process.

  • Deborah Kirkpatrick
I was born in Houston, Texas in 1956 and have lived here all my life. I received art training at University of Houston, St. Thomas University, the Museum of Fine Arts School (now the Glassell School). My training at these institutions was primarily in oil painting. I have also had independent training in portraiture, metalwork and enameling. I was an Artist in Residence at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft in 2007. I have taught private art courses and at Houston Community College.
I began carving about 9 years ago, primarily tongua nuts and wood. I branched out into carving gemstones 4 years ago and have been doing that ever since. My work is almost entirely figurative, and I am inspired by Art Nouveau artists and jewelers. I can be contacted thru this site.

I taught Art at High School and College levels for forty years. At the same time I worked freelance for Mint's and Toy Company's creating prototypes while running my own bronze foundry. I enjoy creating large cast bronzes and small intimate fabricated sculptures. Many of my small pieces are fabricated from a hundred or more individually crafted pieces of various metals.
