Yes, that's right, I'm back...

Hello everyone!

Yes I am back, at least for a short while.
Quick recap; fighting season has been intense, probably the worse in 7 years.
Busy as all get out, mostly ducking and running for cover. I even sandbagged my office at the most vulnerable corner.
I ordered 3 gross of Otto Frei saw blades in different sizes, drillbits, needle file set, and a ... well, ummm... a saw,

red and aluminum.

Got some other stuff, but I can't rightly remember what.

So finally I am going to start out with the proven "Lorenzo Sawing Exercises" until I can cut a straight line and an elipse. Also have a handful of coins to cut out. Brought back a draftsman's ellipse and circle template to work from.

Lots to catch up on as time permits.

As always, You all stay alert and stay safe!

Thanks for the update, Albert! I had been wondering how you were faring.

Glad you're well and finding some time to do some exercises. That ought to be a nice way to clear the head.

Cheers!

Welcome home Albert,
Hope you can stay a while.
Sawing is about relaxing. After the first 3-4 dozen blades you might be screaming mad  but really, it's about relaxing.

I think you might need more sandbags
(I'm not admitting I've got 3 within earshot of Ford!)

Hey guys!

Thanks for the warm welcome! BTW, I'm still in the 'Stan, I just meant I was back on the forum. And of course, some of my goodies came in, and if you look up Ghazni, that's where I have to go for a few days. Seems I'm needed there. Hopefully, by the time I get back here (Shank), the blades should be here from Otto-Frei and I can put the red saw to work. I got the 5" model so I could cut dovetails for wooden boxes and other woodworking chores.

Now, I have a couple of coping saws, but there is no comparison. It works, and works very well. The big issue I have is that I can't see well enough anymore. So I put on my reading glasses and that worked out nicely. On a hunch though, I grabbed a quarter (25 cent piece) and mimed going through the actions of cutting a coin out. Well, I thought it was a quarter...

Optivisor has been ordered, and on its way!

Ok, I'll be incommunicado for a few days, maybe a week. thanks again to all of you for your kindness and well wishes!

All the best, and stay safe!
