Optical visor and old eyes :(

Postby Dave R » Tue Jul 28, 2015 2:22 am

I thought I would share this find with the group.

I ordered one of these for my wife because she wanted something with a light on it.

When it arrived I was amazed at how well thought out it was.

My assistant tried it on and wanted one so I ordered another.
Ever since she got it, the old optivisor has been hanging on a nail in the studio.

I kept using the old optivisor because it worked fine for me.

But today I got into a project with a mini milling machine.
I couldn't see what I was working on with the optivisor.
I couldn't get close enough with the optivizor because it would bump the machine before I could get to the focus point.

Then I tried my binocular telescope glasses and just could not see what I was doing and it was awkward having to be 16 inches away from the work.
They are great for sawing but not this. And I needed more magnification.

I thought would try my wife's visor with the light and bingo, I could see perfectly.

The neat thing about this visor is that you can stack the optics and wear glasses as well and flip the optics up and out of the way or use one or two lenses.

At any rate check it out if you want. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171866260150

It helped me out of a jam.

Cheers

Tried these as my first pair. Cost £15 just couldn't get on with them. My main problem was the position of the focus area in relation to my eyeballs. Seems my eyes are too far apart.
